3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band

San Diego, CA

The Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band, one of ten Marine Corps fleet bands, is under the command of the Third Marine Aircraft Wing. The Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band (3D MAW Band) is stationed on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California. The band provides musical support for military units, civilian community relations, recruiting and troop morale and welfare. The band is comprised of Marines with musically diverse backgrounds with some members being recent high school graduates, some having attended college or completing college music degrees and some having years of professional performance experience.

Marvin Marker’s Long Beach Junior Concert Band, founded in 1952, marks its 61st year marching in The Hollywood Christmas Parade and its 51st year leading Santa Clause down the parade route.  The band is under the direction of Phillip Nakagawa, drum instructor Lonny Daquiado and Joyce Parr Kluksdahl, the director of the California Twirling Institute.


Lee’s Summit North Bronco Marching Band

Lee’s Summit, MO

The Lee’s Summit North Band, from Lee’s Summit, MO is dedicated to helping students develop a lifelong love of making music.  LSN Band students participate in the Bronco Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Class, and Solos/Small Ensembles.  It is the goal of the LSN band staff to meet each student where they are in their musical journey and to encourage and enrich their experience as they continually improve their skills.  The band is a regional competitor on the marching band circuit, and has performed at the 2010 Waikiki Holiday Parade, as well as at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The award winning Grissom High School Marching ‘Tiger’ Band is proud to represent the great state of Alabama in the 2014 Hollywood Christmas Parade.  The 200 piece ensemble is at the cutting edge of marching band drill design and is nationally known for their musical excellence.  The Grissom ‘Tiger’ Band is honored to join the long list of distinguished bands that have performed in the world renowned Hollywood Christmas Parade.

The Slinger High School Marching Band is from the community of Slinger, Wisconsin and is under the direction of Mr. Adam C. Kieckhafer and David P. Buehler. This year the color guard is led by captains Taylor Dempsey and Maddie Swanger. The band is led by drum majors Emilia Selle, Melissa Slizewski, and head drum major Sarah Quinn.

The Pacific American Volunteer Association World Traditional Marching Band (PAVA World)

 T13 PAVA World Photo 2013 Los Angeles, CAThe PAVA World Korean Traditional Band is the first Korean traditional band arranged as a marching band in 110 years of Korean immigration history. It is comprised of 7 ethnic instruments, traditional dancers, and traditional flag bearers. There are 160 Korean American second generation participants from all over Southern California. The band participated in the 2011 and 2012 Hollywood Christmas Parade and will be participating in the 2013 Rose Parade.Founded in 2001, PAVA World is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the environment and preserving relationships within communities. They specialize in environmental education, environmental cleanup and restoration work.

“The Lakota East Marching Thunderhawks, from Liberty Township, Ohio, have received superior ratings at every adjudicated event in which they appeared.  They have earned numerous first place, best in class, and best of show awards. They have been named Grand Champions over 30 times!  The band has traveled to Orlando, San Diego, Honolulu, and now Hollywood!”


Pope High School Marching Band

The Pope High School Marching Band, under the direction of Gary Gribble and Josh Rudolph, has received over 400 awards and honors for outstanding performance in its 28 year history. The Pope Band has appeared twice in the London New Year’s Parade, in the Cotton Bowl Parade, the Citrus Bowl Parade, and three times in the Waikiki Thanksgiving Parade. The Pope Band program offers high quality musical experiences in symphonic, jazz, and marching band as well as in color guard and percussion activities.

Morgan County High School “Bulldog” Marching Band

Madison, GA

Morgan County High School “Bulldog” Marching Band is from Madison, GA.  Directed by Jeffrey Rowser, who is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Music Education. He is a 34 year teaching veteran who was recently honored as Georgia’s 2014 Music Educator of the Year and was selected as a spoke’s person in commercials for public education in Georgia.

The Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums consists of members who are active, former, or retired law enforcement officers from law enforcement agencies throughout the Southern California area.  Individuals with no prior law enforcement background are also a vital part of the Band; the only condition is that they have a sincere desire to support the law enforcement community and be of good moral and ethical character.  The Band respectfully plays at services, memorials, and tributes for police officers, firefighters, and military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We support law enforcement, firefighters, and the military by playing at any event that will serve the respective agency or organization.The Band is a non-profit organization and all Band members volunteer their time.

LA Catholic Schools Band

The Los Angeles Catholic School Band

Los Angeles, CA

The Los Angeles Catholic Schools Band was formed in 2013 to showcase the musicians and performers of the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, specifically by bringing a large marching band performance unit to major parades and other events.  In continuing affirmation of the mission statement of the archdiocese, this band will help build a community of faith and love through the support of the collaborative effort of our young people in a high-visibility ensemble.  This will now be the group’s third parade performance, after last year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade and this September’s Grand Marian Procession in downtown Los Angeles.”

 The Pride of DeSoto Central Marching Band

Southaven, MS

Pride of DeSoto Central Marching Band from Southaven, MS is a four time State of Mississippi Marching Band Champion.  This band has won more than 217 Superior ratings and numerous championships along with being a Bands Of America REGIONAL finalist and Class Champion.  This group also performed in the BCS National Championship game, the Preakness game, the Fiesta Flambeau Parade (2006 & 2014), the Chicago Memorial Day Parade, National Cherry Blossom Parade, the Indy 500 Parade. This is our 2nd appearance in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, debuting 2005.


Korean American Youth Performing Artists (KAYPA)

Chino Hills, CA

KAYPA, Korean American Youth Performing Artists, is a non-profit organization based in Chino Hills, CA. KAYPA performs under the direction of Jae Eun Lee and introduces the beauty of the Korean culture to other communities. KAYPA provides young Korean Americans great opportunities through performing traditional Korean dances and helping them build up leadership skills through voluntary performances.  KAYPA teaches them the importance of Korean history and heritage by performing in local communities including Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), Irvine Korean Cultural Festival, Comfort Women Commemoration at Glendale Alex Theater, and many other prominent events.  KAYPA has been a great source of pride for Koreans and hopes to make an impact on American citizens.

From Riverside, California please welcome the Ramona High School Dynasty Marching Band and Color Guard under the direction of Brian Gallagher.  The Dynasty has received numerous awards and honors in its history of competitive marching band events every year.  In their history they have made appearances in such events as the 2004 Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, Illinois, and the 2006 New Year’s Day Parade in Paris, France and are delighted to be here tonight.

Was founded in 1999 by Eric Mota Reyes who is Music and Artistic Director, relevant performances have been in the State, around the Mexican Republic and abroad. Nowadays have more than 150 student musicians to High School “Escuela Secundaria Técnica Industrial No. 3” from Veracruz – Mexico.”Buhos” have musical repertory national and international, theme from Mexico will be showed the most popular  pieces of Mexican music,  their costume is original all members will dress traditional Mariachi style costume with big sombrero (hat), dancers will be in traditional costume too representative of Mexico.Buhos Marching Band throughout the history of the band  have participated  in many municipal events, national competition, civic military parade, carnival as well as  has achieved great awards nationally and internationally, participating at the following countries: Germany, France, Belgium, UK and Japan.


 Woodland High School Wildcat Marching Band

Cartersville, GA

The Woodland High School Wildcat Marching Band is 240-members strong and has travelled all the way from Cartersville, Georgia to march in their first west coast parade.  The Woodland Band has received numerous honors in recent years, including multiple marching band grand championships, special conference and honor band guest performances, and most recently the band was selected as a Regional Winner and National Finalist for the National Band Association’s “Blue Ribbon” Program of Excellence Award. The band is proud to represent the State of Georgia and the Bartow County School System in their performance today.
