Caporales San Simon Universitarios

Caporales San Simon is a cultural association, composed of men and women of all ages and nationalities that are dedicated to sharing the rich Bolivian folklore through the dance of Caporales.  This is a very popular dance that originated in the city of La Paz in 1969, in which it was inspired by the Afro-Bolivian Saya dance that came from the region of the Yungas in Bolivia.  The California affiliation is one of the many Caporales San Simon dance groups started since 2012, localized in Los Angeles and Orange County.
