The Pan American Institute, better known as the IPA, is the oldest school in Panama, founded on July 11, 1906, by the Evangelical Methodist Church of the United States. This institution is currently celebrating 118 years of foundation. This prestigious band, founded 44 years ago, provides the Panamanian community with musical art through concerts, parades, television programs, protocol events, and cultural activities reaching all corners of Panama; where he performs music that honors the homeland and promotes good values and culture among young people. The musical director of the band is Prof. Reynaldo Centella with the assistance of Juan Frías, Eduardo Rodríguez, Pamela Bruneau, Ricardo Corro, Ana Henriquez, and José Prado all coordinated by Gabriel Chávez. Today, the IPA delegation is made up of 140 students enrolled in the Pan American Institute between the ages of 10 and 20 and is made up of instrumentalists, folk music dancers, batons, and Cologuard. In 2016 this band traveled to Orlando, Florida, where they were part of Disney’s Music and Arts program.
