All before her 20th birthday, the New York-born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and performer has captivated audiences in major Broadway productions, garnered various songwriting awards, and generated millions of streams on critically acclaimed solo music. With equal parts discipline, attitude, and personality, she emerges as a raw yet refined force in pop music through a series of independent singles, with much more to come.
I treat my songwriting as a diary,” she states. “This is how I express myself. My music is true to who I am, and everything I say is from my heart.”
Growing up on Long Island, NY, she discovered a passion for music practically as an infant. “I was basically singing since I could talk,” she laughs. Her first “obsessions” spanned everything from the movies of Shirley Temple to Disney classics a la The Little Mermaid. She cut her teeth in local community theater, falling in love with the stage in the process. At seven-years-old, she made her debut on the 25th anniversary Broadway national tour of Les Misérables in the role of “Little Cosette,” visiting 27 cities in less than nine months. After a run on the Broadway tour of White Christmas, she joined the original cast of School of Rock on Broadway as swing and understudy for six characters and performed all of the roles she covered. Already adept at piano and violin, she learned electric bass for the show and later picked up guitar and ukulele. Around the same time, she started to pen songs of her own and would later receive prestigious honors from John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Great American Song Contest, West Coast Songwriters, Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, UK Songwriting Contest, Unsigned Only, and Dallas Songwriters Association. Meanwhile, her presence has lit up stages from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to the Tony® Awards with unforgettable performances.
She introduced herself as a solo artist with the 2019 single “Christmas Tonight,” which amassed nearly 1 million total streams. 2022 saw her unveil the truth or truth EP which garnered over 2 million streams, with the focus single, “happy for you.” Along the way, she collaborated with accomplished producers such as Will Hicks [Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé], Steven Martinez [Cuco, Sara Kays], Jon Levine [Alessia Cara, Dua Lipa]. Inciting tastemaker applause, American Songwriter christened her “A prolific, motivated, multi-faceted creative,” and Parade applauded her “spot on vocals and sweet delivery.” In addition to high-profile gigs at Sundance Film Festival, the U.S. Open, she has performed at Rockwood Music Hall, 54 Below and The Cutting Room. In between, she notably graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class and gained admission to the renowned joint studies program by Harvard University and Berklee College of Music, majoring in neuroscience and songwriting.
Furthermore, her sound naturally progressed. Inspired by the likes of Tate McRae, Conan Gray, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Willow, she leaned into a new energy altogether.
“It’s more danceable and upbeat,” she elaborates. “It’s more fun to play live too, because there’s a bit of a ‘bad girl’ vibe.”
This energy comes to life in her 2024 holiday single, “Reindeer Rebellion.” Co-written with Nash Overstreet and Shane Stevens in Nashville, the track blends sleigh bells with finger snaps and frosty keys, building to a head-bopping bassline as her bold vocals deliver the catchy hook, “Rudolph’s coming with a ‘Reindeer Rebellion’.”
Ultimately, Ava will continue to shine as brightly as ever in 2025 and beyond.
