Julie Garnyé is an actress, singer, recording artist, voiceover artist, writer, producer, and director. Just 10 days ago, she released her second studio single, “Forgiveness’ Embrace”, with Academy Award and Grammy winner, Stephen Schwartz. The double single (the symphonic version and piano/vocal version) can be found on all digital music platforms.
As an actor, she was most recently seen as an original cast member of the first national tour of the Broadway hit COME FROM AWAY and as Bulda/Queen Iduna in Frozen Live at the Hyperion Theatre at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. She is also the singing voice of the fairy Lyria in the Tinker Bell series of films for Disney Animation.
On television, Julie was seen as an original cast member of FATWA! The Musicalduring season nine of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Julie was also the “In Memoriam” soloist for the 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards telecast and was a part of the Les Misérablesensemble for the Academy Awards (The OSCARS) telecast in 2013.
Theatre career highlights include Jennyanydots and Grizabella in the 5th national tour of the musical CATS, Broadway’s HAIRin Concert and CHESSin Concert at The New Amsterdam Theatre, Jenny Steinberg in the Southern California premiere of It Shoulda Been You, First Things Last at London’s Garrick Theatre and her three Summer Musicals appearances at The Hollywood Bowl: Les Misérables, Chicago and Mamma Mia!.
Ms. Garnyé has sung with numerous symphony orchestras, including the San Diego Symphony, The Dallas Pops and The LA Philharmonic and has performed with many musical greats including Josh Groban, Carole King, Stephen Schwartz, Kristin Chenoweth, and jazz legend Dave Brubeck. Matt Zarley and Julie are also continuing their collaboration with their YouTube music videos.
As a writer, her first book, The Stage Actor’s Handbook, co-written with actor Michael Kostroff (HBO’s The Wire, Broadway’s The Nance), will be released in July 2022.
