Karla Mosley portrays “Maya Avant Forrester”, the transgender lead model for Forrester reations and wife of Forrester heir apparent “Rick Forrester” (portrayed by Emmy® award-winning Jacob Young).
From 2008 – 2009 Mosely starred as “Christina Moore” on Guiding Light. Her other television credits include Heart of Dixie, TLC-Discovery Kids’ Hi-5, Law & Order: CI, Gossip Girl and Nate the Great. Her film credits include Men in Black 3, Burn After Reading, and For Love of the Film. Having earned her B.F.A. in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Mosley’s theater credits are extensive. She is also a singer and songwriter whose music has been featured on The Bold and the Beautiful.
In partnership with her co-star, Lawrence Saint-Victor, and executive producer/head writer, Bradley P. Bell, Mosley co-created and co-wrote Room8, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL’s first web series that coincides with the show’s storyline. Room8 can be seen in its entirety on CBS.com.
Mosley received her first NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her work on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL in 2014.
In her spare time, Mosley sits on the board of Covenant House, the largest privately funded agency in the Americas providing shelter and other services to homeless, runaway and throwaway youth. She is also a celebrity ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and is active in many other charities. Mosley is also a founding member and Philanthropic Chair of Ammunition Theater Company.M. Mosley welcomed daughter, Aurora Imani, with partner John Rogers in August 2018. In June 2018, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL received its 13th Golden Nymph Award at the International TV Audience Awards in the “Telenovela/Soap Opera” category at the Monte Carlo Television Festival. In 2011, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL received its third consecutive Emmy® award for “Outstanding Daytime Drama Series”. It is the first and only daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish utilizing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) technology. Bradley P. Bell is the Executive Producer and Head Writer.
