Daniel Richard Goddard was born in Sydney, Australia. His parents wanted him to be practical and study finance, but acting was his true passion. He joined Ensemble Actors Studio in Sydney. In 1995, Daniel landed the role of Eric Phillips on Australia’s home-grown soap Home and Away.
Goddard left Australia in 1996, and spent two years working on archaeological digs in Mongolia, Tunisia, Liberia and Portugal, before heading to Hollywood. Daniel scored a lucrative modeling assignment with Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana. In 1999, he snagged the lead in the internationally syndicated BeastMaster. Other roles started rolling in, such as South Pacific, Dream Warrior, Wild Card, Age of Kali and Lightspeed. In 2009 The Young and The Restless cast Goddard in the role of Cane Ashby, placing him in the front-burner storyline right away.
Working with veterans Jeanne Cooper and Jess Walton, Daniel proved he was more than a pretty face. When he isn’t on the set, Goddard likes to attend fan events across the country and spend time with his young family. Daniel resides in Los Angeles with his wife Rachael and two sons, Ford and Sebastian.
