The Los Angeles Catholic Schools Band (LACSB) has showcased the musicians and dancers of the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, specifically by bringing a large marching band performance unit to major parades and other events. We have performed in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Grand Marian Procession, the ADLA’s OneLifeLA rally, and at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Our goal is to continue to perform in these events, as well as large events such as the Rose Parade, Macy’s Parade, Inauguration Parade, and on tours to Europe, Asia, and beyond. In continuing affirmation of the mission statement of the archdiocese, this band helps build a community of faith and love and overcomes the barriers that can divide us all through the support of the collaborative effort of our young people in a high-visibility ensemble. These students learn that all of the work that they do is meant not only for the islands of their classrooms or schools, but as their own gift of service in our mission to bring the good news of Christ to all. The high quality of their performances is a testament to the strength of our Catholic schools, and gives new students and parents another positive reason to consider a Catholic education. Over the seven years of its existence, the band has had over 500 students from Bishop Montgomery High School (Torrance), Junipero Serra HS (Gardena), Chaminade Prep HS (Canoga Park), Cathedral HS (LA), Loyola HS (LA), Bishop Alemany HS (Mission Hills), St. Paul HS (Santa Fe Springs), Holy Family School (South Pasadena), Cantwell-Sacred Heart HS (Montebello), Pius-Matthias HS (Downey), Notre Dame Academy (LA), Bishop Mora HS (LA), Bosco HS (Bellflower), St. Joseph HS (Bellflower), Mary Star HS (San Pedro), Ramona Convent HS (Alhambra), Calle Mayor MS (Torrance), and South HS (Torrance).
