Born in the San Gabriel Valley, Isabel Fulmer grew up in a home shaped by service, kindness, and purpose. With a mother who is a special education teacher and a father in law enforcement, she learned early the meaning of compassion, responsibility, and standing up for others. Their example became the foundation of the leader she is becoming. Growing up in Title I schools, Isabel saw how many students feel like big opportunities are for “other kids.” She once felt that way too—until she realized she could use her creativity and voice to help change that belief for thousands of children. As the author of the bilingual children’s book My Abuela’s Castle, Isabel brings her message of hope into classrooms across Los Angeles. She reads to students and leads her signature “Build Your Empire Mindset” workshop, where each child chooses a power word—such as Dream, Brave, or Possible—and writes it on a brick to build a colorful wall of possibility. For many students, it’s the first time someone has told them that their future is worth building. Isabel is deeply committed to community service. Through the National Charity League, Foothill Chapter, she and her mother serve side by side, strengthening their bond through philanthropy and giving back to organizations across the region. This mother–daughter tradition has shaped Isabel’s heart for service and her belief that kindness is action. This year, Isabel served as an open-title Teen USA delegate, and through that opportunity earned a four-year scholarship to Mississippi State University—a milestone that showed young girls watching her that their dreams are within reach, no matter where they come from. She is also a State Ambassador for Best Buddies, championing friendship and inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through her partnership with CARE Los Angeles, she teaches financial literacy and confidence to students throughout the L.A. area—all while balancing honors and AP coursework, varsity cheer, and water polo. Her chosen charity is Compassion International, a reflection of her heart for service and her belief that uplifting others is the foundation of every meaningful life. Isabel hopes to be remembered not for crowns or titles, but for the impact she leaves on others—the students who discover their power, the young people who see themselves in her story, and the belief she inspires that every dream is possible.
